Your Android phone is probably the one screen that goes everywhere with you, which makes it a handy way to watch your subscription in the kitchen, on the back porch or in a spare room that has no TV. Getting it ready takes a few minutes and relies on the same Google Play Store you already use for everything else.

Below you will find what to prepare, which player app to install, how to enter your login details and how to handle the small problems that sometimes show up on a first run. The steps fit most Android phones sold in the US, Canada and elsewhere, although menu labels can differ a little from one manufacturer to the next.

Before You Begin

A little preparation keeps you from jumping between apps halfway through. Have these ready:

  • An Android phone signed in to a Google account, with the Play Store opening normally.
  • A dependable internet connection, ideally your home Wi-Fi for the first setup.
  • The subscription email that lists your Username, Password and Server URL.
  • Some free storage, because the player app and its channel list both need room.

Step 1: Update Your Phone and Your Apps

Current software lowers the odds of an app refusing to install or closing without warning, and the check takes less than a minute.

  1. Open Settings and look for Software update or System update; the wording depends on your phone brand.
  2. Install whatever is waiting, then allow the phone to restart.
  3. Open the Play Store, tap your profile picture and choose Manage apps & device to apply pending app updates.

Step 2: Install a Player App from Google Play

AlohaStream4K plays through a separate player app. For Android, our device guide lists two options in the Play Store: IBO Player Pro, which we recommend, and TiviMate IPTV Player.

  1. Launch the Google Play Store.
  2. Search for IBO Player Pro, or TiviMate IPTV Player if that is your preference.
  3. Look over the developer name and the listing before you tap Install.
  4. When the download completes, tap Open.

Stick to the Play Store for player apps. If the one you want is missing from your search results, get in touch with our support team instead of downloading a file from a website you do not recognize.

Leaning toward TiviMate? Our TiviMate setup guide for Android covers that app on its own.

Step 3: Sign In with Your Subscription Details

On first launch, the app asks you to add your service. Pick the option for Xtream Codes login and three fields appear.

  1. Fill in the Username precisely as it is written in your subscription email.
  2. Add the Password, matching every uppercase and lowercase letter.
  3. Paste the Server URL, keeping the http:// prefix and any port number at the end.
  4. Save the details and give the app a minute to download your channel list.

Copy and Paste Instead of Typing

On a phone, the simplest way to avoid typos is to open your subscription email, press and hold each detail to copy it, then paste it into the matching field. Keep an eye out for a stray space that occasionally gets copied at the end of a line.

Step 4: Get Comfortable with the App

After the list loads, you will usually find separate areas for Live TV, Movies and Series. Spend a few minutes browsing the categories and mark the channels you return to most, so they sit one tap away next time. Turning the phone sideways gives you a full-screen picture in most player apps.

Tips for Watching on a Phone

  • Plug in your charger for longer sessions, since video playback is hard on the battery.
  • Swipe away apps you are not using so the player has more memory available.
  • Stay within comfortable range of your router while you are on Wi-Fi.
  • Turn on auto-rotate, or use the rotate control inside the app, to move between portrait and landscape.
  • Streaming over cellular counts against your mobile plan; our guide to watching on mobile data explains what to check.

Troubleshooting on Android Phones

The Login Does Not Work

A rejected login almost always traces back to one wrong character. Clear each field and enter it again slowly, paying attention to capital letters and the complete Server URL.

Channels Load Slowly or Stop

Toggle Wi-Fi off and on, or walk closer to the router, and then try the channel again. A full phone restart also clears out background tasks that can slow playback down.

The App Closes or Shows Outdated Information

Clearing the app cache frequently solves this without wiping your login. Our guide on how to clear the cache of an IPTV app on Android shows where the option lives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Android phones can I use?

Most phones with a current Android version and access to Google Play can install the player apps. If the Play Store says an app is not compatible with your phone, contact support before trying anything else.

Where do I find my Username, Password and Server URL?

They are in the email you receive after your purchase. Search your inbox and spam folder for it if it is not easy to spot.

Will streaming drain my battery quickly?

Video uses more power than most apps, especially at high screen brightness. Lowering brightness a little or keeping the charger connected helps on long sessions.

Can I watch in full screen?

Yes. Rotate the phone to landscape, or use the full-screen button in the player app, and the picture fills the display.
