An iPhone makes a capable personal screen for catching a show while dinner cooks or keeping something on in the background while you work. Our setup for Apple devices uses IBO Player Pro, downloaded from the App Store, and the whole process takes only a few taps once your login email is in your inbox.
This guide covers preparing the phone, installing the app, adding your account and the few iPhone-specific habits that make viewing more pleasant.
What to Have Ready
- An iPhone signed in to the App Store with your Apple Account.
- A Wi-Fi connection for the first setup.
- The AlohaStream4K email that contains your Xtream Codes details: Username, Password and Server URL.
- Enough free space for the app; you can check under Settings > General > iPhone Storage.
Step 1: Update iOS
Open Settings, tap General, then Software Update. If an update is offered, install it before adding new apps. Running current software avoids compatibility surprises later.
Step 2: Download IBO Player Pro
- Open the App Store on your iPhone.
- Tap Search and type IBO Player Pro.
- Check the listing details, then tap Get or the download icon.
- Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your password if asked.
- Wait for the icon to finish loading on your home screen.
App Store listings can vary by country or region. If the app does not appear for you, contact our support team rather than looking for it anywhere else.
Step 3: Add Your Account
Inside IBO Player Pro, the account setup begins with the ADD USER button.
- Open IBO Player Pro and tap ADD USER.
- Enter the Username from your subscription email.
- Enter your Password, watching the case of each letter.
- Enter the Server URL in full, port included.
- Save the profile, then tap the Live TV icon so the app can sync your streams.
Use Copy and Paste from Mail
Open the email in the Mail app, touch and hold each value until the Copy option appears, then switch back to IBO Player Pro and paste. Swiping along the bottom edge of the screen moves quickly between the two apps.
Step 4: Make Viewing Comfortable
- Turn the phone sideways for full-screen video; if it will not rotate, open Control Center and turn off Portrait Orientation Lock.
- Connect AirPods or other Bluetooth headphones when others nearby want quiet.
- Keep the phone on a stand or propped against something so you are not holding it for a whole episode.
- Leave the charger connected for long viewing sessions.
Keep IBO Player Pro Up to Date
App updates often bring fixes for playback and compatibility with the latest iOS release. To check manually, open the App Store, tap your profile picture in the top corner and scroll to the list of pending updates. You can also turn on automatic updates under Settings > App Store, so new versions install in the background.
Battery and Heat
Streaming video keeps the screen, the processor and the wireless radio busy at the same time, so an iPhone can get warm and lose charge faster than usual. A few habits help:
- Take the phone out of a thick case if it feels hot during a long session.
- Keep it out of direct sun, especially outdoors in summer.
- Lower the screen brightness slightly when you are indoors.
- Close games and other demanding apps running in the background.
If the phone shows a temperature warning, stop playback and let it cool down before continuing.
Keep Your Login Details Handy
Sooner or later you may reinstall the app, switch to a new iPhone or set up another device in the house. Each time, you will need the same three details. Star or flag your subscription email in Mail so it is easy to find, or move it to a folder you will remember. Avoid sending the details to other people, since they belong to your account.
When you upgrade to a new iPhone, apps may transfer automatically, but the profile inside IBO Player Pro does not always come with them. Expect to tap ADD USER and enter your details again on the new phone.
Troubleshooting on iPhone
The Login Fails
Delete the profile you just created, tap ADD USER again and re-enter each detail. Autocorrect sometimes capitalizes the first letter of a username or adds a space after a pasted value, so check for both.
Live TV Is Empty
Make sure you tapped the Live TV icon after saving the profile, then wait a little longer for the first sync. Closing the app fully and reopening it can help if the screen seems stuck.
Video Pauses or Stops
Check that Wi-Fi is on and the signal is strong, then restart the iPhone. Playback can pause when you switch to another app, so return to the player before assuming something is wrong.
