An IPTV subscription gives you login details, but you watch through a separate player app. That app decides how menus look, how you move between channels and how comfortable everyday viewing feels. Choosing well at the start saves you from reinstalling later.
Our setup instructions name two apps: IBO Player Pro, which we recommend across our supported devices, and TiviMate IPTV Player, which is an option on Android only. This guide explains how to decide between them and what to look for in any player.
Start with Your Devices
The first question is simply where you plan to watch. According to our device guide:
- Android phones, tablets and TV boxes: IBO Player Pro or TiviMate from Google Play. See our Android phone guide.
- iPhone, iPad and Apple TV: IBO Player Pro from the App Store. See our iPhone guide and Apple TV guide.
- Windows PCs and laptops: IBO Player Pro from the developer’s official source. See our Windows PC guide.
If your household mixes platforms, using IBO Player Pro everywhere means you learn one set of menus. If everyone watches on Android, you have the extra option of TiviMate.
What to Compare in a Player App
Login Support
Your subscription email provides a Username, Password and Server URL for Xtream Codes login. Any app you choose should support that method so you can sign in with those three details.
Remote Control or Touch
Apps designed for televisions are built around arrow keys and an OK button, while phone apps are built around tapping and swiping. Think about which device you will use most and choose an app that feels natural there.
Ease of Navigation
Look at how the app organizes Live TV, Movies and Series, how quickly you can reach favorites and whether search is easy to find. A layout that suits you matters more than a long list of settings you will never touch.
Updates and Store Listing
Check the store page for a recent update date and the developer name. An app that is updated regularly is more likely to keep working with new versions of Android, iOS, tvOS or Windows. The listing also shows whether the developer charges for the app or offers in-app purchases; those terms come from the app developer, so read them before installing.
Think About Who Will Use It
An app that feels perfect to the person who set it up may confuse everyone else in the house. Before settling on one, consider the people who will actually pick up the remote or the tablet.
- Will less tech-savvy relatives need to find channels without help?
- Do several people share one device, each with their own favorites?
- Does anyone switch between a phone during the day and a TV in the evening?
- Would one consistent app across every device make it easier to help each other?
In mixed households, a single app used everywhere usually wins, because a tip learned on one screen works on the others too.
It also simplifies support. When something goes wrong, describing the problem is easier if every device in the house runs the same player, and the same troubleshooting steps apply on each one.
IBO Player Pro and TiviMate at a Glance
- IBO Player Pro: our recommended app, and the one our instructions use on Android, Apple devices and Windows.
- TiviMate IPTV Player: an Android option in our guide, popular on TV boxes; it is not part of our Apple or Windows setup.
- Both: accept the same Username, Password and Server URL from your subscription email.
If you are leaning toward TiviMate on an Android box, our TiviMate setup guide takes you through it.
How to Try Before You Settle
- Install IBO Player Pro on the device you use most and sign in.
- Use it for a few evenings, noting anything that feels awkward.
- If you are on Android and curious, install TiviMate from Google Play and sign in with the same details.
- Keep the app you prefer and uninstall the other to save storage.
Safety Rules for Any Player
- Install from Google Play, the App Store or, on Windows, the developer’s official website only.
- Never install a file sent to you by someone you do not know.
- Do not change your device security settings to make an app install.
- Ask our support team if you are unsure whether an app or download is genuine.
Troubleshooting Your Choice
The App Is Not in Your Store
Listings can depend on device and region. Contact support rather than searching for the file elsewhere.
The App Is Hard to Use with Your Remote
Try the other recommended option if you are on Android, or ask us for navigation tips for your device.
Your Login Works in One App but Not Another
Re-enter the details carefully in the second app; small typing differences are the usual cause.
